Eastbourne Chamber has the privilege of inviting you to a talk by renowned former senior diplomat and security expert, Lord Peter Ricketts.
Peter Ricketts retired from the Diplomatic Service in January 2016. In a career that spanned over five decades, he worked his way from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1974 to National Security advisor under David Cameron.
Ricketts was British Ambassador to France between February 2012 and January 2016. Peter is also non-resident Ambassador to Monaco. Before this posting, he was the British Government’s first National Security Adviser and, from 2006 until 2010, the Permanent Under Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Head of H.M. Diplomatic Service.
Now a crossbench peer, Lord Ricketts has given expert contributions to public enquiries as diverse as the Chilcott enquiry into Tony Blair's war in Iraq, and a cross-party legal action regarding Russian interference in the 2020 election won by Boris Johnson.
Peter Ricketts is internationally respected for his expertise and his impartial scrutiny of global events. We are privileged to have the opportunity to hear Lord Ricketts speak on the most pressing matters of global security.
