Raystede have been caring for animals for over 70 years!
Since the late Miss M. Raymonde-Hawkins founded Raystede from her cottage in 1952, they have worked to alleviate animal cruelty, rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and provide sanctuary for animals in need.
Each year, staff, volunteers, and supporters at the sanctuary help more than 1,200 vulnerable animals from Raystede’s 43-acre site.
Raystede care for, and rehome a wide range of animals including dogs, cats and small animals. They also care for exotic birds in their aviaries, fowl, and tortoises as well as larger animals.
Many of the larger animals live at Raystede permanently, with elderly goats, alpaca and horses that require specialist care and medication for the rest of their life.
Raystead is committed to helping pet owners of the future understand about good animal welfare. By offering practical advise on how to care for animals, they are help to make the future for animals better.
