16 days of activism on men's violence against women and girls

Every 3 days a woman is killed by a man in the UK

UN Women is the only organisation working towards gender equality at all levels, in all areas of society.

The organisation has launched Sixteen Days Of Activism, an an annual international campaign for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The Campaign runs from 25th November and ends on 10th December, Human Rights Day.

Violence against women and girls (VAWG) remains the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violation in the world. In the UK it is a ‘national emergency’. It is happening at all levels, in all areas of our society.

The 16 Days campaign is Spearheaded by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and is your chance to to go beyond words and play an active role in ending violence against women and girls.
